Conservatory Advice.

Well folks,

Looking for a bit of advice and I would be much obliged if anyone could help. We're currently renovating and part of this is a conservatory. The conservatory is 9 ft deep and 11 ft wide (floor space). It has an apex roof which will be slated and the glass at the apex will run right up to the roof. There are two pillars at each corner which are constructed of block. It's a cavity wall type so full block and 3/4 block on the outside and 3/4 and half on the inside.

Anyway the problem we're encountering is how to tie both these pillars together to make the whole thing sturdy. I contacted our window supplier as I thought it might be possible to have a steel bar of some sort within the window frame that might hold it but it doesn't seem like this is possible.

A friend of mine is doing most of the construction and he's just not sure what way to approach this.

As I said, any advice much appreciated.
