    That's interesting, poor Alfa !

The Qashqai is doing pretty good and not surprisingly, I sat in it in the Dealer while looking at the Mk 1.5 Leaf and I was impressed with the interior quality it's leaps and bounds ahead of the old one. The exterior isn't bad either.

Pity they don't make a leccy Qashqai with a 60 kwh battery !

How anyone can buy a micra is beyond me they are obnoxious looking yokes.

It's outselling individual Fiat models, not all of Fiat.

These sales don't include April, those figures are not available yet.

Still if someone predicted 10 or 15 years ago that an electric car would be outselling the fiat punto, you would probably laugh at them .

Those stats look strange, only three brands, where's the source of your data OP?

With the data you've shown, you could have put the headline "Nissan leaf Outselling <insert any other brand but Nissan here>"!

I saw on greencarreports that Nissan are building a electric van in spain using the leafs tech Nissan has built 110000 leafs in the last few years .. I didnt think it would be as much as that not bad at all

"Japanese car manufacturer in outselling Italian manufacturer shocker"

    Headline news there.

Personally i'd have a Fiat over a modern Nissan any day. A neighbour has a Nissan Note(diesel!) and I hate the sight of it.

A diesel nissan note should never be taken as an example of Japanese cars, that nation has produced some serious machines , its just a shame that this is the kind of crap that makes it to our shores.

Oh I know, I love your MX-5s, Celica's, Civics etc. Even the honest to god Corolla, Primera etc.

Stuff like a Nissan Note, Tilda, Toyota Auris though. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Fiat are in a bad way, all right. But I think the 500 is their best seller now, right?

The 500 must be its the only new fiat i would see regularly on the roads.

Alfa are going to constantly have bad sales when their only range is of 3 cars and one of those is something we will never see here.
They were stupid to discontinue the 159 without having a replacement and they barely advertise/market their cars at all.
It's a pity but not surprising. Fiat should have given Alfa to VW and let them turn it around as much as it pains me to admit it.

I understand the all too desperately needed MX5/Alfa joint venture will wear a Fiat badge.

There is plenty of history for a little FIAT sports car: the X1/9, the Barchetta...

They should sell a budget version of the Maserati Quattroporte and rebrand it as the 169.

That's pretty much the plan: Alfa are moving waaaay upmarket, no more hatchbacks, they'll be a cut-price Maserati rather than a tarted up Fiat.

But based on the new Ghibli, not the QP.

There is but I'm more worried about yet another new model for Alfa not happening.

    That's pretty much the plan.

The problem for Alfa however is that in 12 months time there'll be a whole new plan.

And there's over 11 times as many Dacias sold as Leafs. Who would have said 10 or 15 years ago, that a Romanian-built-Renault-design would outsell an electric car from Japan by a margin of over 90%? :)

The price looks like fun too. 20 k usd 10 k more than the petrol equivalent.

2400 usd for to upgrade from 11 kWh to 14.

1800 usd for Fast charge capability.

    Toys for the rich.

So say 20k euros without fast charging. Madness.

7k more expensive than a 2nd hand leaf from the u.k.

Do electric motorbikes/scooters get any grant ?

Twizy doesn't and one of the reasons nobody buys it, it's too expensive at 10 k euros without battery rental and a lot less range with only 7 kWh.

No point comparing it to any 4 wheeled vehicle. It's a motorbike and quite a good one going by that review. The Zero S at 13,250 euro would more than suit my commuting needs.

Currently I use a Yamaha Xmax 400 for my daily commuting. The entry level SR model at 17,000 euro is tempting though, but I'd wait a while and prefer to buy that level of performance for maybe 12k. There are others bikes I'd prefer to buy if I was spending 17k.

No I'm not comparing it, more comparing what you can get for less money and the zero would most likely have a fair bit more range for the 20K 14kwh than a Leaf too !

There's no doubt the zeroSR would be incredible fun if you didn't kill yourself in the process.

The S would most likely be good enough for me, but opt for the full 14 kwh and fast charger and ChaDeMo port.

I'd imagine after the Government get their cut and the dealers the price would go up a good bit too.

Yes as marchionne doesn't want an alfa built outside italy and quite frankly I don't want an alfa built by non italians.

On the matter of the giullieta, the face lifted version has launched. However Alfa haven't take their heads out of their arses yet and decided what price it will be.
There isn't even a demo model in Ireland yet. I know a few people who are waiting for one, but their is only so long they can wait.
Its also extremely difficult to sell a car to someone, if you can't tell them the price/finance options or give them a test drive.
