    Just came across this forum.
Can't believe Jason Aldean hasn't been mentioned. He's got some great songs and is really good live.
I love new country and listen to Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown Band etc.

New country artists that are worth listening to are:

    Chris Young
    Jason Aldean
Chris Stapelton (check him on youtube - he doesn't have a solo album yet)
    Rascal Flatts

    Some of the 'older' artists:

    Travis Tritt
    Alan Jackson
    Randy Travis

Jaysis lads its a discussion board, tell us why or at least put up a YouTube link.

Rascal Flatts are awful by the way, you couldn't find a more homogenised product from the Nashville factory. Music by numbers and focus groups.

Toby Keith is an ideal starter to get into country. His songs are mostly light and funny and videos are great. Along with that you can try some brooks and Dunn.
Then get into Alan Jackson one of the greats of country
