Power steering 02 fiat punto

    I bought a 2002 fiat punto a few weeks ago. When i put it on full lock left or right i lose the power steering. Even when the city button is pressed its the same thing i lose it and i have to turn the car back on to gain the power steering back. Is this a common problem with it and roughly how much would it be to get fixed. the car has only done 67'000 miles

    This is a common problem.

    If you buy a replacement from a breaker there is a good chance it will have the same problem, but easy to fit.

    If you are handy at soldering, it can be repaired. Search youtube for the "How to".

    Try a good battery first, failing that there is a really good guide on repairing the unit here.
