BTEA Letter from College

    Hello!

Finishing up in college today with my last exam. I have the Repeat Claim form to fill in but I was just wondering about the letter from college.

I'm pretty sure I need to get a letter from college but I don't know what it's supposed to say? Does it just need to have the date I finish my last exam and the date I'll be starting again in September?

Tried ringing the BTEA office in Carrick on Shannon but no answer there so help would be much appreciated!

I'd usually just get the letter to say you were a registered student and that you finished on x date and intend to resume on x date for the next term. The accuracy of the start date isn't really an issue, but it just has to say you intend to go back.

is it the year head of your course or registrations that writes up the letter for this,or does it matter?

Registrations I would say in your case. Not really a head of school issue. I go to the Student Desk in UCD and its no issue.

I got in touch with academic registry in my college, they told me that all they can put on the letter is I am a full time student and its 4 years in duration. I asked about putting dates etc for finishing up in the summer and resuming in septer but they told me they cant do this. Will this be ok for the social welfare office?

Not sure. SW need to know you are not in full time education and getting SW payments at the same time, hence the date. I'm surprised they won't give you the end of term date. Did they give you a reason?

Ring your local SW office and ask them it that is acceptable. If it is, problem solved. If not, go back and find someone else, explain that you need the last date of term/exams so they know you are not in attendance during the summer period. If that doesn't work, see if you have a mature student advisor/society or such that have probably had to find a solution to the issue.

Which Uni are you in in case some here has a solution to the issue?
