As most probably seen from the flat season last year i love to get stuck into the sprint handicaps.
Another one tomorrow that i feel we can get an edge in. The 7.25 in Brighton.

The horse i like is the top horse Secret Missile. I think he has shown enough in both his starts to date to suggest a mark of 79 is a working mark. He seems to operate better in small field events. He is a gutsy horse and can find a good bit off the bridle. Martin Dwyer isnt exactly a jockey i would follow but he doesnt tend to get a lot wrong so its definitely not a negative.
Vincenti the favourite is on a nice mark but im not sure he is the most genuine so i really want to take him on.
Ruby's Day has a chance but im doubtful that the form of her last race is up to much for the grade and she has been raised 2 pounds after getting the run of the race.
Whitecrest has only been out of the first 2 once in 6 go's at Brighton and has a CD win. He is definitely down to a winnable mark but im just hoping he will come up 1 short.

Im not to convinced about the rest Diamond Charlie would have a chance but he is hard to win with even off this mark. Needs things to drop in place for him.

All in all i think Secret Missile is being overlooked in the market at 7/1(Boyles). Its far from a confident selection but i figured him as more of a 4's shot. He is also in first time blinkers which i am hoping will eek out a bit of improvement.

For anyone looking for some bigger odds he could be the first horse off the bridle and come home best, so it might be worth sticking up some bigger priced bets for in running.

Just noticed i missed 10/1 with Bet365 and BetVictor. Ah well still think 7/1 very very fair.

When I went through this race Kiers I came to the conclusion that none of them could win but that's unlikely.

You have definitely pinpointed the most likely winner especially if the ground is not a problem which it really shouldn't be.

Whitecrest looks the main danger and could be hard to pass if leading from the off.

Had Hareth , 5.40 Fairyhouse, down as NAP material after his last run, but think I'd be better off leaving it in a 26 runner race full of potential plot jobs...

Left it in the end. Was 10s when posted, well backed into 4s and a fair second.
Poor placement IMO, could have picked a handier race to land a gamble with, another few pounds added I'd imagine.

Don't think so, could be wrong though. 10s was the best price i could see on Oddschecker when I posted this morning.. and that looked to be the best price since midnight.
Couldn't see a price last night either. Fairly sick if he was 25s and I missed it as that would have been max bet material!

Sorry I was thinking of Hilden

Secret missile was well backed and ran the race I expected just took him a little to long to get going. Traded at 30 or so before shortening in to 1.25 before it was obvious he just wasn't getting there. Definitely races to be won with him though and I've no doubt we'll get our money back off him sooner rather than later.

The odd time I back in sprint handicaps I tend to use a very crude system of (a) Has the horse finished in the first 4 LTO and (b) How high is it up the Topspeed ratings. You'll eventually land on one and I think the winner (Harmoody) met those criteria today (4th and 94)?

Hamoody finished last of 6 on his last start and 5 of 7 the time before that. He won a shocking claimer the time before that alright but I couldn't have picked him today on what we knew going into the race.
