What kind of places have you found in the country dog friendly?

Obviously the pet shop but also a big garden centre close by does - I've never brought my german shepherd in though. The pet shop is another one.... It would be nice to take your dog for a walk when you need to go to a convenience store to pick something up rather than going down in the car. Look forward to replies, Thanks.
