I think my Sata controller has died. Went to my pc this morning and it displays black screen with "reboot and select proper boot device"
Was working perfect and I haven't changed anything.
In BIOS it doesn't give option to boot from anything other than USB. it doesn't recognise my ssd or hdd.
I reset cmos but no difference.

I have tried a different SATA cable but no luck.
My motherboard is an Asrock m3a770de and I have a AMD Phenom iix4 840 CPU.
Where could I get a replacement mobo or an upgrade to the faulty one that will work.
    All help appreciated thanks

    CPU: AMD PHENOM IIX4 840
    MOBO : ASROCK M3A770DE
    RAM: 4GB MUSHKIN SILVERLINE 1333MHZ
    HDD: 500GB WD
    SSD: SAMSUNG SSD 830 SERIES
    PSU: SUPER FLOWER AMAZON 450W
    OS: WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE

If it is the SATA controller on the board gone, could always try a pci sata card. Cost less than a tenner. Alternatively, a used board off Adverts prob wouldnt cost much more either

    cheers.
Ive looked on Adverts but im not sure which board is compatible for my pc?
Is it worth getting an upgrade one?
If i was to get a new board , i may get a new case too as i dont like mine anymore.
What kind of case do i search for?

    Sorry for silly questions.
