There are also videos of these layouts, posted by Tenger yesterday, in the Aviation Video thread.

Looks impressive and probably the only way I'll ever experience the 'non economy' seats.:(

Sorry I didn't see it. I know currently there is no first class service with etihad to Dublin and have only seen 1 person in 1st class on Emirates to Dublin before ( I have only been on 4 flights with them in the last 2 years) so I would be pretty sure they will stick with what they have for the AUH to DUB route.

Can a 787 land in Dublin? Runway length wise.

But of course. It's a small aircraft compared to lots of others.

DUB is supposed to be getting one of the first EY 789s when they arrive, so OP may not be waiting too long for his "$20,000 flying hotel suite".

No matter how good the seat is I don't think it would make up for the 'experience' of Abu Dhabi airport, never again...

They are using the A380 on the AUH-LHR route starting in December and then SYD-AUH route next year, and yes many 787's have landed in DUB already.

I have to admit the first class does look amazing though.

I know of the London routes for the A380 but I dont think there's a market to fill an A380 to DUB even if the runway was large enough and the boarding bridges constructed.

I found it funny that some of the pics show a double bed, the hi jinx!!

So how much a seat? 1st? Business?

Currently return AUH - DUB is 2,300 - 2,600 euro for business saver.

The ticket price for those 2 room first suites is said to be around 25k so won't be experienced by most if anyone at all on this forum.

Danni's record label or ethiad itself might pay for hers which would explain her enthusiasm.

Lots more info from Oz biz travel.

25k! I would want a 1 year round the world ticket for that. No one will pay that, and if they can get a few lads and a bag of cans and rent a BBJ.

Yep,there a company offering a charter jet from London for around 100k for a 3 day trip between London and Dubai which seats 18.

Significantly cheaper but still a tad ott to say the least :D

I hate small planes (actually most planes). A company called Rotana are flying a jet (http://www.rotanajet.com/ its a G450) from here to AUH and its dirt cheap but my head would be touching the roof, there is no way you would get me on that plane.

Saw this new Etihad service being discussed on the BBC this morning. The presenters were saying it was aimed at the super rich sheikhs travelling between London and the UAE.

As €20,000 for a ticket is peanuts to them I was wondering why they'd bother with a commercial airline and the constraints that go with them when they can afford private jets of their own?

Its more spacious than a private jet allegedly. Any time I have seen a private jet and unless its a Boeing, Im not impressed. Most are incredibly cramped with just seats. This has a proper bed with a private bathroom and room. Plus a butler allegedly.

I should re-word that, I love planes, hate flying. My work involves being at a few airports in the middle east, one international the rest military/Oil and gas. I get to see some weird and wonderful stuff.

I love flying until a few years ago and no for some reason it genuinely terrifies me. I am seeing a doc or two about it.
