    Can a driver be the main insured driver on 2 cars? As in 2 separate policies?

    yes no problem, but if you try to add your son or daughter as a named driver on the second car they will take it for granted that the son / daughter / will be the main driver and they will load the policy. In my case it worked out cheaper to register the second car in my daughters name and let her insure it herself. ( learner permit). There was no problem insuring the second car in my name at a reasonable rate.
