I have often thought that it is dangerous to buy players after a world cup. They shine for 4/5 matches and get a huge price tag and then turn out to be average enough players. Phil Babb an obvious example.

    dude take that back

I was in the pub today, watching the Galway and Kilkenny match and in walks a load of American tourists. They sat down at a table and were watching the match while waiting to be served. They didn't know what was going on at all but they obviously were loving the violence and skill involved. One of the men came up to the bar to order drinks. He turns to me and says, "Jesus, I wouldn't like to be in their with a hurley". I looks at him and goes, "I fcuking wouldn't like to be in their without one"!

    Ha.

    No you didn't.

That joke has been going around years.

Roy Hodgson questioned whether Suarez was world class before the English game. I thought to myself at the time that Hodgson would regret that. It made no sense then at all.

They confirm contact with Barca over Sanchez.

confirm there is a foreign release clause in Suarezs contract, and club expect bids and 'hopeful' Suarez will stay.

Not really anything new and I still firmly believe that if the release clause is matched by either of the two Spanish big boys then he is gone.

The only question left now is how much is the foreign club release clause for?

It's the only thing left between him staying and going imo.

Heard that years ago in relation to John Wayne being brought to a Hurling match on a day off when filming 'the Quiet Man'. Still a funny joke though, even though I never believed it

Yesterday you posted a tweet from one of the regular itk pony talkers on the club, who said that Suarez won't be back to the club. I assume Philips claims his source is from within the club and not Spain so the info that James Pearce, a respected journo shares, has said that there has been no contact from Spain about Luis yet and that the club remain confident that he will stay.

Pearce knows his onions, Philips, Moley et al know fcuk all about our transfer activity, in or out of the club. No more that you or I. It is all guess work from those chancers tbh, cos we don't know Barca or Madrids plans. If they come in, he could leave, but they haven't yet, and might not either.

I have a feeling there is something to this £70million foreign release clause that a number of papers and media outlets are reporting.

I have a feeling Guardiola is going around leaking like a 50yr old prostitute again, just like last season and the whole Arsenal £40mil+£1 debacle

Looks like Riena in goal for Spain.

Hopefully a masterclass performance from him, and he'll be firmly in the shop window.

Ah everyone knows what he brings, and how much he gets paid...

If Courtois is really going back to Chelsea, surely Altetico is a natural destinationf for Pepe?

Would uz take Sanchez & Cash for Suarez? Seems to be doing the rounds this morning....

I'd be raging if you get him with that kinda money..but looking like a good deal on your end.

Kike Marin** ‏@Kike_Marin_ 3m @J_A_K_E_15 @Moley_LFCDT Barcelona has been informed by Pere Guardiola that Luis Suárez will cost 80 mill euros.

Kike Marin is one of the better Barca/Spanish based journos.

    seems I was right.

Guardiola has no tact what so ever, and I was amazed he wasn't sacked after the Arsenal debacle.

also interesting point I read was the inclusion of the word 'confidential' by James Pearce in the Echo article when talking about ther release clause.

It seems the club know what Guardiola is up to (again).

I stand by my point that the only thing now is if Barca or Madrid come in @ €80million.

You're just not allowed to tell the same kind of joke three times in the space of 15 minutes.

    I found that out yesterday!:pac:

80 million euro? 65 million Sterling, far too cheap unless Sanchez is thrown in.

Its not about money for me.

Its about replacing 30 Premier League goals which is a very very hard thing to do, and I haven't even mentioned the amount of assists that Suarez provides.
