A 10 minute documentary on sakho's first season & how he's setting in with us made for French TV. Warning:annoyingly coloured subtitles, but interesting content.

The Moreno deal is popping up on a few stations now as being completed save for the medical.

€22m with €3m add ons. Not sure if it is meant to be €22m plus a potential of an extra €3m in add ons, or if the €22m figure is what it would cost if the add ons are met.

Would be amazing. Him and moreno would be fantastic.

I know stats are to be taken with a copious amount of salt, but saw a few opta stat comparisons between Shaqiri and Lallana last night that caught the eye.

Here is the statbomb comparison to save on having to put up a long list of comparison stats.

The tackle/interception stat is the only one that stands out like a sore thumb though, and is an indicator of the harrying and workrate Lallana shows off the ball.

I think the teams both play for does somewhat skew those figures, Bayern for example have alot more of the ball than Southampton

How important is the fact that Lallana is proven in the Prem. Shaqiri may not settle as well.

    From the saints website

Interesting bit about not wanting to sell any more players until the new manager is in place

Moreno for what £16-17m would be fantastic business.

Which is fair enough and I really don't get the anger towards them for not selling us their best player.

Let's see how we react when the enivatible happens and our resolve is tested by Real for our best player.

The ball is in Liverpools court I must say and decisions need be made.
Wait for Southampton or move on.

    Move on I say.

Saw link on BBC saying Soton apparently want 30m sterling for Lallana now. Pull the plug is all I have to say.

Those photos of Lambert are class. Most of the time new players have to put on a face for the camera, but you can genuinely see he's as happy as a pig in shyte. Good for him.

Talk of McLaren being interested in Jordon Ibe for next season.

Interesting that a player will need to hand in a transfer request to leave the saints.

Here he is leaning... at the back of a Tesco car park, or something. He really looks like the love child of Gerrard and Rooney.

    Haven't seen him play much.

If you have what sort of scouting report would you give him, do you think he will settle quickly in the premiership

It's being a problem position for a while, thought we had it sorted with Enrique

    Would agree with that.

But another thing that would skew the figures would be the fact that a lot of Southampton's play goes through Lallana and he gets more game time than Shaqiri so for Shaqiri to be beating him on things like key pass average per 90 mins played, assists etc does show that Shaqiri may be a very effective addition to a team that attacks like we do.

The dispossession and dribble stats did catch my eye though. For ever 90 minutes played Shaqiri completes more dribbles than Lallana, but gets dispossessed considerably less. Now Lallana is no mug when it comes to dribbling, so it does speak wekk of Shaqiri's ability with the ball as well as his balance/upper body strength.

A lot would depend on where Rodgers would want to play Lallana or Shaqiri if he had them in the squad. Lallana is a bit more flexible in terms of positioning imho and he does massive work in terms of chasing back when his team are on the back foot, whereas Shaqiri would be less inclined to defend but more inclinced to attack.

Shaqiri would be able to play on either wing and in the CAM role. Lallana would be able to play in the cam role, on either flank, or, as he has shown at times for Southampton, in one of the advanced CM roles when a three man midfield is deployed.

If reports are true and Southampton aren't willing to budge on their £30m valuation then I can't see Lallana going anywhere, transfer request or not.

Nobody will fork that much out for him and if they do then good luck to em...they're idiots.

Rickie Lambert: Only Suarez, Rooney, Van Persie & Gerrard have registered more PL goals + assists in the last 2 seasons than Lambert (43)

Didnt realise he had that many myself!

I keep reading that Liverpool are in a battle with Manchester Utd to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka, I can only presume this is a struggle that exists in the minds of sport editors. As far as I can tell the trail has definitely gone cold and that in part is why Shaqiri is being sought.

Unfortunately I think you are correct.
