25m AND a player? It had better be Aspas and nobody else.

Looks like player plus cash (total 25m) better be Aspas!

    Johnson

Bournemouth get 25% of him, I'd go for his left leg.

    Suso loan?

If it's Johnson then I'd probably throw in an extra £5 million for good faith.

No, he still serves a purpose in our squad. If only as an experienced international to help Wisdom, McLaughlin et al. He is still worth 10m at least IMO. If the deal for Lallana is Johnson and 25m then it's absolute insanity.

Joe Allen sprang to mind straight away for me.

Not a hope in hell will Rodgers be letting Allen go.

Not a chance, we could still get about ~12m for him if we wanted to sell him. That would put Lallana's value up to 37m, which is more than Big Andy cost...

He'll be 30 at the beginning of the new season, in the last year of his contract and has been our worst first teamer for the past 2 years.

Borini in the swap? They need a striker?

Jaysus, here I am watching the Ireland-Italy match, racking my brains, as to who the South America/Native America looking centre back is. It's only this lad earning his 2nd cap for his adoptive country

Gerrard is 34. Fabregas would shoulder a huge portion of his workload if he joined Liverpool. Be a smashing signing for £30M
We have almost zero chance of getting him. Arsenal have a buy back option, so straight away they have first dibs on him. We know United are interested and they are willing to spend whatever it takes to bring him to Old Trafford. Chelsea have just flogged Luiz for loadzamoney, so they have cash to splash. Man City and Yaya have had a bit of a falling out, Fabregas would provide a perfect replacement for him should they want him.

Assuming Lallana and Moreno come in, with Lambert already here, that will have us spending £50M. Zero chance FSG will sanction another £30M of spending.

Johnson could go to Soton if that swap deal is true, isn't he delaying or failing to sign a contract because he wants better terms?

He has some cheek if he's looking for better terms...

Liverpool have yet to reach agreement on a new contract for Glen Johnson, with the defender seeking a longer deal than is currently on the table.

The England right-back enters the final 12 months of a £120,000-a-week contract this summer and has been offered an extra year by Liverpool's owner, Fenway Sports Group.

FSG has reduced Liverpool's wage bill under the manager, Brendan Rodgers, but it is the length of the deal that has caused the impasse with the 29-year-old, who wants his contract extended beyond 2016.

    :O

The whole process is probably being held up because Liverpool are insistent on offering Johnson plus 25m and Soton just want the 20m :P

    It won't be Johnson.

Why would he walk out on £120k a week to play at Southampton where he'd end up getting less than half of that.

I think it's more hope than expectation.

They can have Aspas or Alberto if this swap thing is true but that's the only players we should consider. Tbh if it's 25m + a player besides Aspas or Alberto I will be disappointed with the club.

Ah forgot about the contract. He's English, that adds millions straight away.

    Could be Robinson or Kelly.

If there ever was a swap, I could see it being Teixeira. Close enough to a like for like swap with Lallana

If Robinson isn't good enough for the Championship he's not good enough for the PL.

Robinson is being saved for a straight swap deal with Shaw.

You know, if this swap deal is true, if you think about it, even offering Aspas or Alberto as part of the deal is bad for us overall.

We shelled out 7.7m sterling for Aspas and 6.8m sterling for Alberto. Waste of money right there if they are just makeweights in a deal for Lallana when Soton still want 25m so they can get at least 18/19m of that and still pass on the 25% to Bournemouth.

Why didn't we just do a deal and buy Lam bear for 20m and Lallana for 4m? Cuts out Bournemouth and Soton still get what they want :p
