Very worrying that Lallana & Lambert seem to be two of our top targets. Did we not learn from 2011?

Richmond Lambert is not going to win the quadruple IMO

If we are signing lambert for almost 10m it has to be something to do with lallana. We all know fsg would never sanction a fee like that for a 32 year old player.

    It's as obvious.

I'm not sure I like us being part of a burn like that.

Edit: Burnmouth. Not gonna even tie that in to a joke. Just serve it as is...

I thought Rodgers said he was looking to bring in quality first team players this summer. Very underwhelmed if Lallana and Lambert fall into that category.

Rickie Lambert's a great story. Macc, Rochdale, Blackpool, beetroots etc . . now a World Cup and close to joining #LFC, his club

I seriously think this is about to happen. Surely not for £9 million.

It could well be £9mil but I'd expect Lallanas fee to be around £15/£16 mil.

Jaysus, just read the Heysel thread there. Usual suspects point scoring. Disgraceful.

Any chance we are just baiting Spurs?

We are about 'sign' him for 9. They jump in with 12, boom transfer budget gone and we sign Chino.

One would hope. I can't see the people at Liverpool paying £9 million for Lambert though. They couldn't stand over that.

So basically Liverpool are buying Lambert to screw Bournemouth ? Well I hope it works well for all concerned

Unreal stuff. Didn't bother with it.

Horrible club, horrible fans, I'd expect no less at this stage.

At least they're not screwing Bourmemouth over completely then

They could easily chalk it down as 24,999,999 for Lambert and a pound for Lallana

That's seems a little bit of an over-sensitive reaction to a post.

All is fair in love, war and the summer transfer market it would seem.

Nuri did you not yourself link to stats that showed Shaw had better offensive stats completely contradicting you saying Moreno is better going forward when you made those posts a few weeks ago

My position is clear whether he ends up at Chelsea even, Shaw is better all round and that's the reason he will go for a lot more than Moreno. Being consistently very good in the premier league at 18 is a feat very few have achieved

I remember a few weeks back when one of the papers linked Liverpool with Shaw for 30 million and there was a page or two of people in here delighted, it seems the tinted specs are on now though and suddenly Moreno is just as good but way cheaper.

You said Shaw was superior to Moreno when attacking, in which I disagreed and asked you to provide stats. I was expecting a few goals and assists from Shaw in terms of production given your comments. Moreno trumps him in that area. I know what I've seen of both and while I'm open to a change of opinion more than most, however, I disagree with you and given my points of why I do so. Without trying to sound rude here, but there's really not much more that be discussed between you and I on this topic, tbh, other than to say Moreno's versatility is another plus point in his favour.

    Moreno -

Cannot understand why we are buying Rickie Lambert.

Cannot understand why we are buying Rickie Lambert.

I daresay Liverpool threatened to walk out on the Lallana deal if Southampton didn't throw in Lambert in order to artificially raise his fee. They have a reputation for screwing over lower league teams. Suarez even has the audacity to gloat about his infamous handball versus Mansfield after every goal.

But enough with the serious talk, Aspas is probably off and Lambert is a better option to have imo. We need someone other than Borini as backup to Suarez and Sturridge who is happy to sit on the bench more often than not.

Only logic is it's tied into the Lalanna deal. No way would FSG pay that for a 32 year old.

Cannot understand why we are buying Rickie Lambert.

    - Good player and brilliant professional

    - By all accounts a huge fan of the club - provides extra motivation to do well

    - Seems like the type of player that wouldn't struggle to 'settle in' - you know what you're going to get.

    - Provides another option up front

    - Would be an excellent 'impact' player

    - Would be happy to play backup

    - Wages would more than likely be modest

It would come down to the transfer fee but I can definitely see why Liverpool would be in for him. They don't need more starters up front, they need good quality, reliable backup - and he would provide that.

Would it not have made sense to tie the Lovren and Lallana deals together. Assuming we are bidding for Lovren.

We are Liverpool. Tra, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren.

    More fool you.

Blather blather blather finished off with ...and that's why Liverpool fan's are scum.

Tony Evans article says it all. The fans were too blame ultimately.

13/14 season, 42 games: Suarez, Sturridge, Aspas.

14/15 season, ~50-55 games: Suarez, Sturridge, Borini, Lambert.

    +1

I've live with this plus some youth thrown in for the League cup.

People are speculating Lallana is a done deal, but not at the price that favoured LFC, so they negotiated Lambert into the deal, and the fee will split heavily on Lamberts side and the balance on Lallana...this would reduce the amount owed to Bournmount.

IF this is true it's a very unsavoury thing for Southampton to do, and I'm not too comfortable with LFC being a part, albeit small in the transaction.

You are joking right? All's fair in love and war and particularly in business Agueroo me old pal. I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.
