Despite what everyone here says, I can't see Teixeira making it. He's 21 now and while he's done pretty well for the reserves and had that nice cameo in the league, I would still have been expecting him to push on.

He's the boy who was horizontal in a body brace for 6 months though isn't he? That is bound to have had an impact, and the next 6 months will be crucial for him and LFC.

Ibe has all the physical attributes needed. Even more than Sterling has. Power, strength and pace. Whether or not he has the football intelligence that Sterling has is the big question now. If he does he will definitely make it as a top player. If not then he will only reach a certain level with his other physical gifts.

Borini kept sunderland from relegation and was in two long cup runs. Aspas barely kicked a ball for us.

FWIW, was at the game yesterday and there was no comparison. Aspas may have scored but he looked desperately short on confidence and ideas against players meant to be way inferior. Borini looked like a proper Premier League player, head and shoulders above all but Ibe for me - and Ibe was made to look good by Cornwall.

Fans will always overstate how good their youth teams are. Realistically, out of the current batch, we'll be doing well to have 2-3 of those lads make it as first team footballers with us.

For me, Rossiter is the star. You have to remember that he's about the same age as Chirivella, Canos, Kent, Wilson. While those lads have only started dipping their toes into the U21 level, Rossiter is the best player on the pitch at that level and knocking on the door of the first team.

Ibe would be the next likely player to break through. He's already gotten first team experience with us, he has the same kind of raw talent as Sterling that is incredibly effective in the Premier League. The real question about Ibe is whether he has the movement, positioning and ability to pass the ball that Sterling started showing. We'll hopefully find that out next season.

Despite what everyone here says, I can't see Teixeira making it. He's 21 now and while he's done pretty well for the reserves and had that nice cameo in the league, I would still have been expecting him to push on.

I know you're Rossiter's Biggest Fanboy here, but I doubt he'd Breakthrough ahead of Ibe. That is just not happening.

Ibe is way ahead, in Terms of Physicality. We could play Ibe in the 1st Team against Prem Clubs, and he wouldn't look Out of Place.

The same cannot be said about Rossiter. He would look like a Little Boy Lost against the Yayas and the Fernandinhos.

For me, the Jury is still out on Rossiter. He's Tactically Good, but he definitely needs to Grow and Bulk Up, if he wants to go Toe-to-Toe against Prem Level Midfielders.

It is a lot easier for a winger to make an impression as a young player than a CM/playmaker, purely because of the physical attributes needed to succeed.
So Ibe may make it sooner, but Rossiter has a better change of being a regular starter and a potential great, such is his calibre...

What size is Mascherano? He had no problem in midfield.

Central defence is an area we need to strengthen for sure, but i'm not sure the likes of Steven Caulker is a huge upgrade on what we have.

Any other central defenders linked? Who does everyone reckon would be a good shout to improve us significantly? Personally id love to see us move heaven and earth to sign Mangala from Porto. Excellent defender and also has instant understanding with Sakho from their time with the french under 21 set up, where they were a terrific pairing.

I see Moreno is being linked heavily today. He'd be a terrific signing and would sort out left back once and for all.

Are you seriously comparing Rossiter now to Masch?

I'm saying that a small midfielder will make it if the talent is there. Rossiter 100% has the talent to be at Liverpool for the next 20 years. I'm sure similar things were said about Mascherano at this age.

That's what you've gathered from my Post?

Sorry, Mate. But you've Misunderstood me.

I said to Francie that Ibe will Breakthrough 1st ahead of Rossiter. And that's because the Former, already has the Physicality to play in the Prem.

    Rossiter currently doesn't.

I didn't say Small Midfielders like him, Allen or Masch can't Succeed in the Prem.

Masch is a classic south American midfield barrel, Rossiter is 17 and a bit (and yes he picked up a strain about 10 days ago).

Sorry, I was picking up the last bit of your post. You said the jury was still out on Rossiter, I firmly believe that barring a disastrous injury, he will be first choice in our midfield within 3 years.

    My Opinion, of course.

For me, the Jury is still Out. He's been Good in the U-21 Level. But so did alot of our Players before. Case in Point, Pacheco, Adorjan, etc.

Speaking of Adorjan. It seems that he has Failed to Impress at Groningen. They are not going to Exercise the Option to Buy him.

I wonder what happens to him now? Do we Loan him again? Play him again in the U-21s? He's still Contracted to us, until 2015.

Cardiff got significantly more money for being relegated than Bayern got for wining the Bundesliga apparently.

That £97M might just get us Javi Martinez, Mats Hummels and David Alaba :p

Then get Lallana from player sales.

Smiples anyone can do this job :pac:

They got more than United got for winning the league last year too apparently. Crazy jump in funding

Where did the new Tv money deal come from. Was it the clubs who did the bargaining or PL officials?

    BT outbidding Sky, basically.

Will United be willing to sell all of those players to us after they sign them all in the summer?

I just did some reading up there.

So, just as the FFP rules come in the Premier League brings forward the date of TV rights auctions and forces a bidding war which means the top clubs in England have a higher Prize Money income when filing returns for FFP.

    BRILLIANT.

Don't think he will.He is a good midfield prospect but not an exceptional talent.Ibe would the player who I think has the best chance to breakthrough.

How did Moreno play against Benfica? Did he look better/worse than Siqiera? I know it's just one game but it's a big game and I didn't see it. Apparently those two and Ryan Bertrand are our left back targets according to James Pearce at the Liverpool Echo - not sure why we're swerving Cole unless he's after monster wages

Luis the diplomat, Big change from 12 months ago.
Q: ‘Any chance of a move to Spain?’

A: “My head now is focused on the World Cup. I had a very good season with Liverpool but now I am focused on the World Cup. Everyone knows that there is always too much media speculation.”

Q: ‘Is there a contractual clause that allows you to leave Liverpool for Madrid or Barcelona?’

A: “No, no, not as far as I am aware. There is no clause that suggests a priority for a specific team.”

Q: ‘Would you like to play with Neymar and Messi?’

A: “Everyone knows they are great players.”

Q: ‘Do Barcelona need a No9 and could you fit in their system?’

A: “I’m not the coach. They know what they need. I have a contract with Liverpool.”

Q: ‘What do you do when you see reports about you moving?’

A: “I turn the page. . . you know what the press is like, how they speculate, and you try to not take any notice. I know what I want. My agent tells me what’s there and what’s not. It’s more speculation than reality.”

Q: ‘What do the words “Real Madrid” mean to you?’

A: “Real Madrid? The only thing I think is Cristiano Ronaldo and that he doesn’t score. He’s one of the best in the world with Messi. I kill myself to score goals; they do it so easily. If he scores, it’ll be a pity.”

Q: How did you feel after the Crystal Palace game?’

A: “I was so angry on the inside. A week before we had real hopes of winning the league and after the Palace game, we knew that it had gone. We had lost the chance. I felt frustration and rage at the fact that the opportunity had been lost. I covered my face because I was so hurt and frustrated. I preferred people not to see me.”

Q: ‘How would you classify the season?’

A: “In the end it was a pity: we had the opportunity but didn’t take it. But if you look at the previous years, at what Liverpool had done before and at what we did this season, it was a magnificent season.”
