I don't see how anyone could have a "very specific" need for a 6x1 switch. Just use an 8x1.

Actually, I see from another thread that you already have a 4x1 switch, so you could just cascade, as mentioned in the post above (4x1 & 8x1 switches are just cascades in a single unit anyway), as long as your receiver is DiSEqC 1.1 or 2.1 level, & can send the "uncommitted switch" control signals.

Why 6 and not 8 or even 10.

Diseqc outside no big deal. EG.

appreciate all the feedback. but the max I can have are 6 lnbs coming from my sky dish and 80cm dish combined.

so I could have a 4x1 and a 2x1 going into a 2x 1 but how does one set up the receiver then?

    currently in settings the receiver has port 1 28 port 2 19 port3 13 and port 4 9

You don't have to use all the switch ports.

If you select DiSEqC 1.1/2.1 in receiver setup, it should make more ports available.

    have it sorted I think

    existing 4x1 port 1 astra 28, port 2 astra 19, port 3 hotbird 13 and port 4 eurobird 9

in set up for eurobird on port 4 I need to disable diseqc 1.0 and in diseqc 1.1 have 2 cascades set for port 4 this will be for eurobird 9 above plus astra 23.5

I assume a blind scan on port 4 will bring in all the tps for 9 and 23.

am I on the right track

does that last 2x1 need to be a uncommitted switch. or if your receiver can do diseqc 1.1 is that sufficient?

The extra switch will have to be uncommitted i.e. Diseqc 1.1 compatible.

Alt. you could add an uncommitted 4x1 switch to your existing committed 4x1 which would give you 7 ports in total.

    hi mate

Would recommend a 8 port diseq switch as already advised over cascading different switches together which is completely messy.....you also must make sure your box can take the switch if its an old box it may not....

    guys

I use an 8x1 and only use 6. Uncommited ports on Disq 1.1 They are about a tenner (ebay google GD-81E DISEQC 8x1).

A small weathproof outdoor electric box a few quid extra and you are setup.

Your references by the way to Port 4 confused me. What box are you using. On a Ferguson or ALI chip box Diseqc 1.1 and more than 4 ports you must use the 2 cascades option. And then the port numbers go from 1-32. On an Enigma box, once you select diseqc 1.1 you choose the uncommitted ports as you wish.

    STB

    re port 4
what i thought initially was to combine two lnbs into a 2x1 diseqc which would go into port 4 on my existing 4x1 and have the setting in my alma combo box set to diseqc 1.1 thus thinking that would get those two lnbs up and running.

    again guys thank you
