UPC Horizon for TV and EPC3925 for broadband 5GHz wifi

    Hey guys,
I've done quite a bit of research but can't seem to find the answer.

I have the UPC Horizon complete bundle for internet TV, phone and broadband.
For gaming audio I use a XP500 wireless headset from Turtle Beach.
The wifi signal of the Horizon box interferes with the signal of the headset, as they both use the 2.4GHz band.
The obvious solution for this is to switch the wifi on the router to 5GHz. Surprise: the Horizon box doesn't support that.

I still have the EPC3925 router which supports 5GHz, so I wanted to use Horizon for TV and the router for broadband/wifi. Looking at the features of the Horizon box, It seems I can't even disable the modem.
I'm a bit hesitant to connect the devices to another and use trial and error, is it possible to set it up this way?

Thanks in advance for all helpful comments!

I have horizon for the tv and the cisco 3925 box for modem + phone, but its for location rather than any other issue. They might charge you a deconsolidation fee, probably 50 euro, I got out of the fee as i was on the horizon trial at the time.

But before you go that route have you tried changing the channel that the horizon box is using on the 2.4ghz band?

    Hey djivide,
    Thanks for your reply.
I tried different channels, but either the devices connected to the wifi getting trouble or I still have interference.

From what you're writing I tell it is possible, but what would that deconsolidation fee be for?

generic fee for them to do something. They will charge for anything if they can get away with it.

At the time I fobbed them off saying I was having issues with my phone not working with the new horizon box and needed to get the old modem working again to get the phone to work and to move the internet to the old modem while they were at it.

I was actually having problems with my phone but it turned out that the phone would work with the cable plugged in in one direction but swap the ends and it would not work which was odd. Had the same issue on the old modem where it used to work but once I swapped the cable around I was getting a line.

Thanks again for the reply, djivide.
How did you actually set the Horizon and the router up? Do you have a coax cable going into the modem/router and another into the Horizon box?
Are the any imitations in use of Horizon because of this?

I apologize for the seemingly dumb questions. I'm used to Sky UK and BT UK and the setup is entirely different.
    Thanks in advance!

Youll need coax to both devices. AFAIK there's no lodt functionality.
