CIMA or AITI

    All,
    I'm ACCA qualified since 2010.
Have 3 years practice training (2004 to 2007) and since have had contracts in industry on and off.
I am now having difficulty getting employment - only four months in 2013 and nothing so far this year.
I have no SAP or Oracle experience which I know is an obstacle.
    I want to upskill so I would like opinions on the following;
If I did CIMA would it open doors for me in Cost accounting roles without having work experience in it? What other doors could it open?
Similar for AITI - have no real tax experience bar compliance work in practice many moons ago.
    All comments appreciated.

The extra benefit being CIMA qualified also would be negligible if there was any. Having the tax exams would benefit you for a number of practice roles, but if you don't have practical experience it wont be a huge help unless you would be happy to go back to being a junior.

What is your CV, quality of your application/cover letters like? Have you got someone to review those?

CV is well done and formatted by a few recruitment agents.
As for Cover Letters, again I don't envisage any issues as I have had some interviews. I got to the final two in two roles and was pipped to the post.
I am in Limerick which isn't a hive of activity job wise at the moment and relocating is not an option due to my very young family.
SAP and Oracle is hurting me for a lot of roles and it can't be remedied as unlike Sage packages courses are not available for these.
I just need to try something, as it is wrecking my head.

Oracle and SAP experience are good for multi-nationals alright.

Hopefully something in the Limerick/Clare region comes up.

    Best of luck

Thanks, I fear my "career" is over before I could get it properly started.
