Posibly to create sliming impression, especially in proportion to picture frame. In the link you posted they do it for non plus size models too sometimes.

Would you not look taller/slimmer with a full profile picture?

It just really stood out to me while browsing.

Not the ones at the top of the page. Mango started plus size line this spring as far as I know and they seem to be listed towards bottom of the page. I might be under wrong impression but are the clothes in plus range a bit more expensive?

The selection isn't nearly as good anyways.
I suppose there is more material being used?!

Wow some of those clothes are awful and make the 'plus size' models look way bigger than they are!

I often see 'norma' models with their heads cut off...is that not just the thing?

On the particular page I was looking at, the vast majority of the regular models have heads. None of the curve models do.

TBH I'd say it's probably just that the curve models were probably all done as one photoshoot/project as it's a relatively new campaign for Mango. While all the 'normal' models would have been done over times as different shoots etc

Just a thought. I've no idea really.

Plus size? Jaysus how are they plus size?

Edit: I clicked curve so I'm looking at the right page.

When did it become the norm to label a size 14+ as 'plus size' or 'curvy' ? Why not just have ascending sizes and forget about pigeon holing everyone

Your wan above couldn't be a size 14. She looks about my size and I'm a 10.

She should pose with her legs together anyways!

I don't know if it is the same stuff in curvy line than in their other lines but up till this year I don't think they sold bigger sizes than 16. And Mango 16 is rather small 16. I'm 12 almost always there are one or two brands that I would fit into size 10 but in Mango I am 14 at least on bottom. I think in shoes they have some additional stuff under Violeta range.

Anyway I wouldn't be that surprised if the model on the photo matches Mango's idea of 14.

Mango is a Spanish brand as you know and what's considered slim and curvy here is quite different to Ireland. As I said, I'm a size 10 (well, all of my clothes are a size 8/10 anyway, not that that means much anymore) and I would be larger than most women here, so I presume these sizes are adjusted to the Spanish average.

It would be nice if clothes shops actually used to a standardised measuring system instead of inventing their own definition of sizes. I know a lot of shops do it for vanity reasons and to encourage shoppers to buy something because they're pleased they fit into a smaller size. I don't know how it would go down with shoppers though.

14+ is definitely plus size even in the UK etc going by all those online catalogue ads, but the pic looks fairly slim for 14. 12 maybe? 10??
    Spanish sizes for ya

Yeah 14 is a plus size everywhere but as you said, there's not a hope in hell that chica is a 14. Unless my idea of sizes is completely skewed with all the vanity sizing about. Maybe this is actually what a size 14 looks like?

So perverts don't misuse the pictures?

    Maybe she is 6ft 2in and that's why it's a 14?

Oh maybe. Good point. Very likely too as she's a model.

Unless the give the models heights it's impossible to judge size. And they never have short stocky models so the pics are largely useless to me!!

I had a friend who had size 8 measurements, although she had to wear a 14 a lot brbecause she was 6'1. Very possible that the model is quite tall. Makes the brand look better if their models don't have any lumps and bumps, I suppose.

However, I'd wager that that model is about 5'8 and not a 14.

She is plus-sized compared to a lot of models though, particularly catwalk models. She has a very curvy shape. Hourglass (if not big-boobed). Whereas lots of models are "straight up and down" (lol, I may as well be talking about a bookshelf! :D).
That doesn't mean she's fat though, or anything near it. She has the perfect figure in my opinion.

Why don't they show the plus size models faces do you think.

And on the ASOS site, they don't give the plus size model's size, like they do with the regular models. It's a really useful feature, and if the model is happy with her weight, why not display her size?
