Estate/MPV with €6-8k budget

We're considering buying a newer car with a budget of around €6-8k. I think €6k budget should be ok but my husband would like to go to €8k. We've got a 00 focus estate at the moment but we're getting fed up pouring money into maintaining it so we think it'd be better to get a newer car which requires less maintenance as we don't drive everyday.

In €6k budget, I've seen the focus estate, mondeo estate, c-max, toyota avensis estate, toyota verso, opel astra estate, zafira

Over the €6k budget, Honda FRV, ford s-max as well as the ones already listed.

Engine size up to 1.6 petrol and anything over that diesel. We have to think of increased insurance and tax too as our focus is 1.4.

What would people recommend out of those and am I missing any other reliable cars. Unfortunately we have to choose reliability over anything else. We're now considering mpv's as we'll probably soon have to bring our son's friends places so we need extra space. Boot space is really important though as the buggy, bikes etc live in the boot.

Most of those small 7 seaters are tight enough if you fill the third row of seats then boot space is reduced. You will be extremely limited in your choice restricting yourself to 1.6 or below.

Toyota Corolla Verso is the obvious choice or Ford C Max if you don't need a third row of seats.

Think there is an audi a4 estate on donedeal for around your price range and is a 1.6 petrol
