    good morning guys

looking for advice on the above, i have 4 lnbs going into a 4 way diseqc switch. I am trying to add a fifth and saw this image which shows two lnbs going into a 22khz switch and then into a port on the diseqc.

my question is how does this configure on my receiver as currently

    port 1 is astra 28
    port 2 is astra 19
    port 3 is hotbird 13
    port 4 is eutelsat 9

i want to add astra 23.5. so on my receiver could i have 13 and 9 going into the 22 khz switch and port 3 and have 23 on port 4?

    thanks in advance

8xWay switches are available such as this providing your box supports the correct DiseqC version.(cant remember what it is just now)

tks gerry, putting in a larger diseqc is an option, but a it would need to be waterproof and if i got to 8 i will be looking to put up additional LNbs (and my budget is maxed with the wife on this) .

its just i have one spare lnb and saw that the 22 khz might be the solution.

Continuous 22kHz tone operated switch is no use, as this is needed for band switching in the LNB.

If the receiver supports DiSEqC 1.1 or 2.1, use another DiSEqC switch in place of the 22kHz switch. (2x1 DiSEqC switches are available.)

The 22KHz switch will not work. The diagram you have above is out of date as you will have Universal LNBFs which already use 22KHz for switching between low and high frequency bands. The diagram above only works with single band LNBFs (e.g. as still used in USA).

If you want to keep your existing Diseqc switch and add an extra one, then you will need to be sure to use a combination of committed (Diseqc 1.0/2.0) and uncommitted switches (Diseqc 1.1/2.1), similar to the diagram in the link but minus the '2/1 pos'.

i haven't got the 22khz swith yet so are you saying i could have the 2 way diseqc with two lnbs going into a single port on my 4 way diseqc?

that being the case how do i set that 5th lnb up on my receiver ?

    tks
