Engine only reving to 2500

    12 caddy 2.0 tdi only revs to 2500 when stationery but will rev on out if moving and clutch it and rev it. Is this normal

    Yep, its limited when stationary, or specifically not in gear. Passat does the same.

    I don't think mine does it in Neutral but it definitely does in reverse!

    It's definitely launch control.......

    A lot of yokes have this. It's to protect the clutch I suppose.

    turn off the ESP and you can rev the shiet out of it.

    Lots of reasons, one example would be finding a resonance rattle or vibration at say 2600 rpm.

    Try driving it at 2500 rpm. That's what it was designed to do.

    Great for the emissions test at the NCT.

    That's what I meant.

    They rev it up to max rpm. Car won't let it go past 2500 rpm.
