Eircom Fibre Installation

My family will be getting Eircom Fibre installed tomorrow and I'm just wondering if a new cable needs to be run through the house?

The router we have at the moment is in an upstairs room with the cables all running through an attic storage space and through the wall so I'm wondering if the installation is going to be messy essentially as I'd like to keep the router etc where it is at the moment.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Itll need to be near to the master socket. They can move it a bit, but not hugely.

If your termination is in the attic this may be ok, if its by the front door then the modem will be going in there.

Hope I'm not hi-jacking, but do you get a new router when you get fibre BB?

Yes, you need to have a vdsl2 modem capable of vectoring.
The one Eircom give is called zyxel F1000.

Its been mentioned by others a few weeks back in some of the VDSL threads. Cant confirm it myself, just taking their posts at face value.
