So i've got a provisional license and 3.3k to spend.

Axa quoted me 5660€ on a 1.4 Bora.
    Campinion quoted me 4300€.

    Other quotes I remember are 4500, 4000...

I heard asgard is supposed to be the best but they're not currently taking any more policies because something happened?

Anyone know where I should look?

I was in a similar situation when I started driving op about 15 years ago, ( feel old just typing that!) insurance quotes were multiples of the cars value so I ended up going for a carvan, an almera ,saved a fortune on insurance was able to get commercial tax too, and built up some experience before getting the full licence, worked for me because I was an apprentice at the time so handy for tools etc ,but might be an idea for you as well, best of luck op

And I thought my insurance was bad. Have you tried nononsense? They are usually good for the young-uns but don't expect too much cover.

Don't really care about how much cover I get on an 850€ car. I'd scrap it if anything was to happen to it, it's just rediculous buying insurance for 4k on a car worth 1/5th of that... I gave them a call and all I can remember was a stupid price, I'll ring them again tomorrow or something.

I had bare minimium cover starting out about 5 years ago. Cost 1500 blips in a 1 litre micra but I'm a lady. I know my brother got absolutely snookered starting out, think it was near 3 and a half k for his then 1.2 litre opel corsa.

    They're feckers, just keeping looking.

It's stressing me out, I've rang so many companies and done everything yet the quotes are still 1k above where I need them to be.

If you don't mind a few restrictions and big brother monitoring your driving, try this crowd: http://www.boxymo.ie

Be good to to get you up and running at least!

They're the only guys with an affordable quote, but I'm going to be commuting 80 KM a day and just general driving on top of that so that 13600 KM bundle will go very fast for 3500€... wish there was no limits...

Unfortunately VAG cars are really popular with the boy racer crowd at the moment and its driving the premiums up on them, might be better to cut your losses and go for something else if you can't get a decent quote.

Thought this sounded familiar. Did you think the answers would change 3rd time around OP?

You're right there, can't count the amount of modified boras, golfs and passats I've seen around! Seem to have replaced the civics of the starlets of the 90's and 00's:)

Some of them look really well but can't stand seeing a 1.4 golf that's been modified to look like an R32!

    +1

OP please don't post the same thread everywhere on here. I'll leave the main motors one open, and close this.
