Is a long gap between 100% and fully charged a sign a battery is on the way out?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini since about Jan 2013. I just noticed when it's on a charge there (USB from the laptop) that it's been at 100% for quite a while but I haven't yet got the battery full message and the battery full icon.

Is this a sign that the battery is starting to show it's age?

Are you sure it didn't flash up and you missed it? It doesn't mean anything either way

Is 100% not full? A battery can't charge anymore sure..

No, the display lights up and says that it's fully charged and that happens a few minutes after it reaches 100%.

Apparently not. Maybe it's a rounding thing like 99.5% is shown as 100% but it needs to topup the final 0.5% ???

I dont think so a few of my Samsungs did that.

Its much faster to charge from a socket.
