Hi there! It’s my first time posting in boards so be nice! :) I was wondering if someone could help me! I’m a 20 year old Irish woman, am living in Dublin and would love to meet some new friends. I was thinking of joining a club, (or something like it) to meet new people. Only problem is, I’ve been trawling through Google and can’t seem to find anything. :( I’m an active person, and I love art so anything art related/sport related would be appreciated, once its social!
I’m a friendly person, I’ve just had a bit of bad luck with friends recently, so any help would really be appreciated!

    Thanks!!

Hello tea13 and welcome to boards!

The best thing I can suggest is to check out the Dublin forum and keep an eye out for things that might interest you there.
    Here's a link-

A lot of forums occasionally hold beers or meet-ups, and it's a great way to make new friends, so keep an eye out for those too.

Depending on what you like, there are sports clubs of every stripe in Dublin. I've been a member of two rugby clubs and a triathlon club in the last five years (came in as a total stranger in each case) and all three were welcoming and supportive. If there's something you compete in, or something you'd like to compete in, have a Google for clubs in your area - you'll meet locals with similar interests and get training you wouldn't otherwise have access to.

Yep meetup.com is great and check out the 'Dublin City Sketchers' if you're interested in art.

Try Macra na Feirme! It's got a rep for being for farmers but it's for everyone, sports, performing arts, public speaking, travel, community involvement, the works!! Depending on where abouts in Dublin you are there's four active clubs in the city, Treble R are based around Ranelagh, Rathmines area, Hill 16 are Drumcondra, North County is Swords and Dublin Mountains is Rathfarnham! Their Facebook pages would be the best place to start but feel free to pm me if you are want a phone number! Good luck!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! This is all great feedback :)
I'll definitely look into everything you mentioned. I'm shy by nature which is annoying, but from the sounds of it all these clubs seem really welcoming! :)

Hi Tea. My name is Becca, I'm also 20 and in the same position as you. I've had a very very bad year friends-wise and I'm very eager to join something or meet someone who's interested in similar stuff. I'm really creative, I love anything arty, fashion and music. I just finished a course in Fashion and am hoping to get a place in DIT to study Visual Merchandising this coming September. I would love to get in touch over facebook or something if you're looking for someone to join a group with. I know how desperate it feels looking for stuff like this when you're shy. Have you heard of Meetup.ie? It's full of groups that are run by people with various different interests. You basically look up the type of group you're interested in joining and it's as easy as that. I've been a member for about a year now, and still haven't plucked up the courage to go to a meetup :( It's so difficult to do these things alone. Anyways, if you feel like chatting or whatever, just send me a message on this :)

Musical societies all over the place, great fun and very sociable if you're that way inclined. Details of societies are on www.aims.ie
