Showers Won't Produce Hot Water

I am having a major problem with the water pressure and/or flow at my home. Let me explain

Recently I reinstated two electric showers. One was to replace a shower which went faulty about nine or ten months ago. The shower I guess was about 12 to 15 years old and was either producing boiling water or cold water. There didn’t appear to be any way to regulate this.

The second show was an electronic shower put into a disable facility and had just stopped working ie no water was coming from it! It stopped working the week before Easter.

I bought two new showers MX Duo QI which according to the Manufacturers Instructuions in order to make sure of activating the heating elements, “the shower must be connected to a mains water supply with a minimum running pressure of 100kPa (1 Bar) at a minimum flow rate of 8 litres per minute."
The equipment was installed by an experienced plumber but neither of the showers produced any hot water!

The plumber had me call NI Water and ask them to do a check. They came and replaced an old stock cock outside my front door, it had been there from the house was built in the early 60’s. The reading from the new stop cock was 2.3 bar pressure with a 10 litre flow.

Next I asked for a call out from the shower company and when their service engineer came he couldn’t find any internal fault with the showers, or any reason for them not producing hot water, when he reported back the company agreed to replace them.

One new show was fitted two days later, this time by the company service agent, again it wouldn’t produce any hot water. At that stage the service engineer said there was nothing more he could do until he spoke to the head service engineer, and didn’t fit the second shower as he reasoned it would give the same results.

This was pre Easter so I had to wait until after Easter before I heard from them again. The engineer came, dismantled the shower and took a pressure reading from the shower inlet pipe, it hovered around the 1 bar mark.

However, when we turned a nearby tap on the pressure gauge fell to zero. That he said was my problem, no pressure.

I again want back to NI Water and had them do another reading this time the outside reading was showing 3 bar pressure with a flow rate of 10 litres per minute.

I’ve had another plummer come and give me some advice on the problem. He has taken readings from various spots in the house and at a very maximum these are giving a flow reading of 10 litres a minute, and that’s tops. He didn’t do any pressure tests

When we tried the shower in the disabled facility and turned on a nearby mains top the shower stopped sending out water altogether! Flush the toilet and the shower almost stops sending out water!

We’ve been successfully running two electric showers in my home now for in excess of eight years, before that we were running a single shower with no problems

I find it difficult to understand how a loss of over 2 bar pressure could occur between my stop cock outside the door and my showers, indeed I find it difficult to understand why I am having so little pressure within the house.

It’s a quarter to one in the morning when I writing this, there shouldn’t be much water used this time of night but still I’m getting the same problems, no pressure

    Any suggestions
