Will round-up work on rushes?

Burned off a field over a week, all nicely turned in colour at this stage, all except for a few patches of nice green rushes. Will I have to hit them with mcpa or does the round-up just take a little longer to work?

Only used it via a paint roller (homemade weedlicker), killed the hell out of the rushes. Did you use any sticker in the spray, wondering did it run off instead of penetrating. Or maybe like you say the spray just takes longer.

It will work when a sticker is used and stays dry a good while aftr been sprayed.

Used a sticker and had a grand dry spell after, so hope it's just taking a bit longer than the grass

Mind you it does depend on the rate used.
I sprayed it out at 3 litres / acre cos I've seen people put it out at 1.5 and only knocks them back.
If your grass is brown and rushes not yet started to turn you could be in trouble. They will take longer to die but you'd want to be seeing some effect once the grass turns.

Roundup will kill them slower. Even low concentrations in weed lockers kills them slowly.
We've mixed it to 80:1 and rushes are dead after maybe six weeks.
