Tablet Storage Problem

Need a bit of info and/or advice.

I just bought a Zoostorm SL8 Mini 7" tablet for my daughter, to replace her current one (Acer Iconia 8GB) and proceeded to install all her games on it. However, after a few games had installed, I got the "insufficient storage" message.

On further inspection, it appears the internal storage is split into "Internal Storage" which is 400MB, and "Internal SD" which is 5.9GB and, of course, all the apps automatically install onto to the 400MB storage. Also, most of the apps don't have the option to move to SD, so I've very little room for apps.

I checked her old tablet and it only had 1 internal storage, so there was never any problem there.

Is there any way of either merging the 2 internal storage partitions, increasing the 400MB partition, or is this a hardware issue with no solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Pelluci

take off one game to allow you to install an app to sd installer. I use super atool. it has loads of uses but one of the apps actually lets you install to sd card. leaving only a small amount of memory in the cache needed you should be good to go then

I'll give that a shot. Cheers.

any apps you already have installed that can be moved to sd card will show up and you can just move them all in one go. its a very handy lil app

Just to follow up, I tried daytob's advice, but could still only move certain apps to the larger internal partition.

So, I ended up rooting the device, creating a new EXT2 partition on the larger storage partition (using Minitool Partition Wizard) and then used Link2SD app to point the apps to install on the new partition.

Many hanks to daytob. While the exact advice didn't work, it started me in the right direction.
