I posted this in the Buying sub-forum by mistake, but I am sure it will be seen by more people here! Mods feel free to remove the version from the buying sub-forum.

I am going to be selling my car and checking out the usual sites I see there is a wide variety of prices, so I would like to get your opinions on what it is worth?

It is a 2005 Jag x type 2.0d (manual) with 114,000 miles on the clock.
I bought it in the UK 2 years ago and imported it.
It has a full service history and the DMF and clutch have been done about 6 months ago. It is in PMO.
It is booked in for NCT next week so it will have a new NCT (with about 3 months tax).
It is the Sovereign model, so has all the extras: auto lights, auto wipers, electric memory mirrors, electric memory front seats (drivers only with memory), heated windscreen, climate control, air con, cruise control, all leather, touchscreen, sat nav, premium stereo (10 speakers, incl 2 sub-woofers), aux in, multi CD in boot, voice control, multi-function steering wheel, reverse parking sensors

It is averaging about 43mpg mixed driving according to the onboard computer.

I'd love to think I could get €6k for it but am I in dreamer territory?

    Thanks for taking a look...

very nice car and spec, what are the others asking on donedeal and carzone etc? You could always throw it up for 6k, better to ask too much than too little, if your not in a rush to sell...

05's are going for between 4-6.5k and 06's up to 8.5k.

Whether they get those prices or not is the question!

No harm in starting off by asking over €6k for it to begin with but here is one with less mileage asking €5500:

Now I have no doubt your car looks to be a lot cleaner especially on the inside. Unfortunately, this being Ireland most buyer's first impression tends to be mileage rather than condition.

In saying that the car does look immaculate, great exterior/interior colour combination and attractive spec so I reckon it will sell for decent money. If you have no time constraints then by all means aim high with your initial asking price, gauge what interest you get and readjust the price accordingly.

The dreaded 100k miles strikes again :) I don't mind this if the car has a full history and is well looked after, but you're right, low mileage attracts people.

The 68k miles on that Jag is incredibly low for that year. Strange too that the DMF and clutch have been replaced already. Too many short trips in heavy traffic maybe?
