Petrol car 7K - 12K

    Hi Boardies,

    I am planning to buy a car over the next few months, I seek your advice as I am unsure about what to buy.
    I do less than 10K miles per year, most of it on a countryside road with the odd Motorway trip every few months.
    I've been reading a lot about cars and looking at reviews and so on.
    I just can't make my mind whether to buy a small car like the I10 and get a 2012/2013 one with a very low mileage or go for the likes of 2010 insignia/Astra/Focus.
    I know that the new small cars would be dog slow in comparison with the likes of Insignia and so on but the advice that I need is about the potential mechnical issues, the value of the car in the next couple of years, maintenance.....I really appreciate your advice boardies.
