Any recommendations for dog beds for indoors, preferably some sort of memory foam or orthapedic support for the older fella, was looking at this one on Zooplus, it's got great reviews but it's really flippin expensive so I'm debating with myself about it

I don't know if it would be good enough, but have you thought about a baby mattress out of a cot? You can usually pick them up really cheaply in second hand shops, or for free on some websites and they will often come with a waterproof cover.

How about making one up yourself with memory foam pillows or a small mattress?
My old guy has a large foam cushion which I covered with black plastic in case of wet paws and then covered again with a soft cover, that I can remove and wash - he also has a pillow - sometimes his bed looks so comfy I could sleep in it myself!!

I got this one for mine. Think I ordered it off the german site as I couldn't get delivery otherwise, and I got a bigger size. The cost was about €80 I think. Very expensive. The foam is substantial, the cover is slightly flimsy (I put a duvet cover over the top), but my mastiff loves it.... and so does the the staffie when he can wheedle his way in!!!

I have the karlie orthobed and I also have the Cosy Mocca
    http://www.zooplus.ie/shop/dogs/dog_beds_baskets/customer_favourites/round_beds/129263

Now I was more excited about getting the memory ortho bed, and while I love it, the first choice of the dogs is always the cosy mocca, its absolutely loved and the karlie ortho comes second place lol.

Ive started buying from zooplus.de Tranceypoo because its cheaper for almost everything, cheaper than the uk site too and the discount code for the German site is SAMMELBESTELLER

Thanks guys, I don't really need it to be waterproof (thankfully) and I don't fancy the idea of making it myself as I'm pretty useless!

Snoman that's actually the other bed I'm considering as it's quite thick (30cm I think) and it's on special offer at the moment, like the Cosy Mocca maggiepip but I think memory foam is the way forward!

ETA I just saw that the L size can't be delivered to Ireland!

Completely OT, but I bought my Dad some slippers the other day, that have memory foam in them :o

I have some memory foam slippers too, they're the business, hence memory foam being the way forward in all things now!!

...... but I got it on zooplus.de, I think. Or maybe on the uk site, but I think it was .de. Yup, just checked - definitely the German site.

The cheap and cheerful option if it has to be memory foam is a couple of memory foam pillows in his old bed, dead easy to change pillowcases for cleaning too. Just got the text from homestore and more this morning saying pillows are going to be one of the half price offers for May.:)

This is what I did aswell, my son had a spiderman sleeping bag and I used this as a cover. Best cover I ever got, it's so hard wearing and easy to wash & dry. It's the longest I have ever got out of a bed.

Bought one today. Good outdoor and indoor. My older girl needs one at most spots now. It's a calf matt from an agri store. Very popular too with "barmen" for standing on. €45 6'x3'10". They are black, rubber and nice and thick and very durable.

Could you post a link for that one time lord please? That might work for the in-laws dog who I take care I'm always on the look out for new bedding for him as well!

I think this is the sort of thing time lord means, and I know people who use them for their dogs... They're good if you're looking for something rugged, low maintenance, but they obviously lack any soft fluffiness!
I'd imagine a calf mat with a sheet of vet bed would be a great job for the in-law's dog.
You can buy them in any agri-store.

He doesn't know himself these days with all the regularly changed/washed bedding and the heat pad (although he's not too convinced on that)!!

Don't want to hijack thread but where is the best and cheapest place to buy large plastic tub dog beds. The greys love curling up in them, even if they are too small for them. Saw them priced at about €40 for the size I need - large but not the extra large. If you know of any place that are reasonable for them or doing deals for two please let me know. thanks

Aldi get them every so often, and last year when Homestore & More had their half price offers on pet gear they had plastic beds going very cheap.

On the lookout for a new bed for a terrier, not sure what to go with. Problem I have is almost every evening, sometimes during the day too, he pulls any bedding out into the middle of the floor/garden rolls it into a ball grabs hold of it in his mouth, wraps his paws around it and goes hell for leather humping it. He's neutered and does it regardless of whether he's been walked or if anyone's watching him or not.

Have a plastic bed with a blanket in his outside kennel, the whole bed fits in a pillowcase to stop him pulling the blanket out but I caught him pulling the whole bed and all out into the middle of the garden, it's a fairly awkward thing to fit out the kennel door too.

I got one in Woodies, but can't remember the price. It suits a greyhound and sometimed the Westie too!

I have a strange one for you! My dog never uses a bed I'd love to get him one as he is getting surgery soon and I want some where comfy for him I'm thinking of getting him vet bed bed. He just seems to like sleeping on hard surfaces like the bare floor

I highly recommend vet bed. So so comfy and so quick up dry. I got mine from dog food direct 3 for 2 :)
