I'm not able to drive due to a medical condition so wonder with cars like this where the driver is not exactly in control would the same regulations apply?

Will you be allowed to sit in the car if you are alone and over the limit?

I would say the law will be that you must be fit to drive in case anything happens and you have to drive the car as normal.

    Who knows!

I think laws will quickly evolve with the experience and data that will be gathered.
At first, you will have to be fit to drive and have a driving licence and when there will be enough data to show that these cars are involved in less accident than car driven by humans, it will be changed and soon, you will not be allowed to drive in 'manual' mode anymore.

If this is the future I think there will always be some sort of override system and at least one person in the vehicle will have to be able and fit to drive regardless of how safe they are found to be.

Anyway I like driving. I don't particularly want a car that drives itself.
