Barring injury to Yaya again, Silva out for him, maybe Dzeko to Aguero too depending if City are still in the hunt.

Yeah exact same re Silva out for Yaya, thankfully £ no consideration what so ever anymore so can hold on to the last minute to make decision

Silva out for Yaya. Might do Evra in for Coleman too.

Looking like Lallana and Terry out for Yaya and a city defender.

Will wait 'til next Friday night/Saturday morning as I have loadsamoney!

I have exactly enough for Lukaku to Rooney and Lallana to Silva but not after Rooney's rise tonight. I hate making Saturday transfers :(.

silva to yaya and may take a 4 pt hit for a dgw defender.

Distin out for an undecided player yet. United defence is a bit of a minefield but we may get some indication today. I expect rio to play a bit more but even if he started today I'm not sure he'd play the 2 dgw games. Vidic might be worth getting in now, moyes was planning long term so would have been looking at the young centre backs as he stated but giggs will only be focusing on these 4 and no question that Vidic is Uniteds best defender.
Plus with giggs having played alongside him for 8 or 9 years you'd imagine he'd want to give the club captain the send off he deserves.
Another option is a Liverpool defender for distin, palace away you'd imagine would be a low scoring game and then Newcastle at home.
Only drawback of that is it takes up my 3rd Liverpool slot (will be getting sturridge back for Newcastle game) and would like to keep option open for bringing gerrard or sterling in v Newcastle.

I can't afford Yaya, so there's that. Might bring in a Utd defender and maybe Nasri?

suspected Ferdinand would start but didn't expect mata to be dropped, great hit that was to get him. at least lallana did nothing so it softens the blow (lallana obviously the player I dropped)

    Either yaya only
Or nasri and de gea -4
Will see how yaya looks tomorrow

Which United defender is most likely to play the DGW? I want Evra but Jones almost looks like a safer bet based on recent gametime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭Rosco79

Eriksen and Silva to Yaya and AJ.... depends on tomorrows form but have €0 to spare after tonights price changes so will have to decide tomr

More than likely will do Gerrard to Yaya and Baines to Evra/Jones for -4 leaving me with:

    Mannone
    Azpi Zab Evra/Jones
    Yaya Ramsey Mata Eriksen
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

7 DGWers - could play Chester instead of Azpi but don't trust Hull away from home.

I hope Yaya has the worst week of his footballing career next week so.

This will be my team too after I trade Terry for zab. Coleman will be going on the bench after today. Feels odd leaving 3.8m in the bank but can't see a better move.

    Gerard to Yaya.

    Mannone
    Azpi Zab Evra/Jones
    Yaya Ramsey Mata Eriksen
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

I'm similar enough. Replace Eriksen with Skrtel and Yaya with Nasri. I have Colback who should be good for 4/5 points in his DGW, but who could I drop for him?

    Mannone
    Azpi Zab Evra/Jones Skrtel
    Nasri Ramsey Mata
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

    Lallana to yaya-
And then Coleman to Demich/ Zab maybe.

Transferred amalaftino last week to make money available for yaya.
Didn't even notice he had a DGW- am seriously thinking of leaving him in over Erikson or Ramsay for next week, prob erikson:confused:

Was keeping an eye on him for a while for the DGW, but didn't have the transfers or the space in my midfield. However he's looking good and depending on the significance of the fixtures, I.e. if WBA are sealing staying up, or Sunderland as good as gone he could be a good should esp for the last two games. As you say he could be a better return than Eriksen for the DGW.

Would have just enough to get him in for Noone after doing Gerrard to Yaya. Would not seem right to go a week without a points hit, I'm getting addicted to them!

Coleman out will leave £6.0 to spend on either Jones or Demicailis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭Skippy44

    Going to do either

    (a) Azpilicueta & Mirallas to Alonso & Yaya
    (b) Lallana & Mirallas to Sessegnon & Yaya.

Sunderland's DGW fixtures look easier on paper to West Brom's but Sessegnon looked sharp today and can see him scoring against his old club. Can afford a price rise or two so will wait until after tomorrow's games to decide.

    Wildcard time!!

Going for 3 Man City, 3 Man Utd, 3 Sunderland and maybe 2 Hull players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

Anyone else considering a cheeky punt on Amalfitano? Januzaj was gonna be my cheap punt but not even on the subs bench today so if I ship him out for Amal, I then have an extra Utd slot to bring in Jones or Evra.

    Mannone
    Zaballeta, Jones,
    Yaya, Mata, A Johnson
    Aguero, Rooney,

That's the 8 players that'll definitely start but I'll wait until the end of the week before I decide the rest of the team.

I'd go with De Gea in goal, its still no certainty what giggs back 4 will be every game. Get a cert Sunderland defender then instead of Jones.

I was thinking about bringing in Bacuna for Colback, but would need to take a hit to do it, and can't see myself resting any of my single GW players. Also don't think its odds on that Bacuna outscores Colback by -4. Will likely just use a free transfer to bring in a United defender and play with the 7 DGW players listed in my post above.

    Will do Silva to Yaya.

    Leaving me with:

    Mannone
    Bardsley Chester Kompany
    Eriksen Ramsey Yaya Mata
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

8 DGW players. 2 home fixtures means I can't see myself looking past Rooney for captain again.

vidic if you can afford him.

said earlier in the thread (before the Norwich team news) I expected rio back and that was the case but I'm not sure he'd play both games in the dgw.
Jones not a certainty either as smalling can play right back too and also Rafael might impress in training.
While none of the back 4 is guaranteed I'd be very surprised if Vidic didn't play the remaining 2 home games at least before he leaves.

wait though incase he gets punished for leaning his head into Snodgrass, doubt he will be I've learnt you can never predict anything with the FA, should know Monday or Tuesday if he's being charged for it.

I thought Rafael was injured, hamstring? Jones has played the last 8 in a row, where United have kept 4 clean sheets. He also bagged a goal and assist. Smalling has played alongside him twice, so I don't think it's definitively an either/or scenario. Good point on Vidic, it would be nice to see him play out the remaining games. As much as I'd love to have himself or Evra for the goal threat, I've been f**ked over before (by Evra) in a DGW when he was rested for the easier game, so the focus needs to be getting the defender most likely to play both games.

If rvp is back I wouldnt be so sure about rooney however if results go against city today there probably is no real alternative. Giggs will probably give all 4 strikers gametime before the world cup. Only seen bits of motd but did rooney move back to midfield when hernandez came on

Rafael will reportedly be back in contention for the sunderland game, so even if he weren't to make that he could feature in the second game v hull.
Jones played at right back yesterday but most of his games over the period you mentioned were at centre back when Moyes wasn't picking rio and also evans was injured. smalling was also injured for a few games in that period.

So with Rio, evans and smalling all vying for a centre back slot alongside vidic it might mean Jones misses out on a game, however, he did play well yesterday so giggs could opt to keep him there even if rafael is back.
If rafael is confirmed out then jones is a great shout, because even vidic isn't 100% nailed on.
I got burnt with vidic for the last dgw (got him in the week before and then he was suspended for the first game of it) so somewhat reluctant to go for him again but i can't afford evra so will see what news comes out about rafael friday and base my decision on that then.

rooney dropped very deep when hernandez was on, well he was dropping deep before that too as rooney often does but more so when hernadez was on.
RVP is back training so you'd have to think he'll be in contention for next week which isn't good news for us mata and rooney owners, giggs said before the match that the reason he didn't start mata was because he wanted to play 4-4-2, he only brought him in then for a striker (welbeck) so although the first game v sunderland might be too soon for RVP to start and we might see mata start off rooney, but i wouldn't be guaranteed of mata starting both and if RVP does play the second game it means rooney is off pens and playing deeper.

I can afford Evra but unsure whether he'll play, and like I said above been burned previously. It's two games in three days and Giggs might still want the likes of Buttner to get a game. My rival has De Gea who is the most likely to play both games, so it's vital I don't miss out on a likely 6+ points by picking a defender who then gets rested. There will definitely be at least one player who plays both. Need to get this one right.

I think its impossible to predict. Rio, vidic and evra will definetly play 1 game to give them a send off. I cant see rio playing the 2 vidic and evra have a chance. Smalling will probably play 1 as may evans. Jones has a chance of 2 moreso if rafael is out and buttner may play 1. The most likely to play 2 IMO are jones and vidic but it wouldnt surprise me if no defender played 2. Im steering clear as I dont think its worth a -4 even though the fixtures are great.

i think it was fairly commonly known that rio and evra were on their way out this summer under moyes and while that may well still be the case, Giggs has played with both for many years and may just give them this chance to prove themselves worthy of another season, Rio wouldn't play 3 games in 8 days though so it's my guess he'd play v sunderland, rested v hull and then play v southampton.
Evra i think could play all 3, despite doing decent against bayern and in a league match recently buttner is never going to be first choice at united so i don't think he needs "looking at", the only reason i could see him playing is if they've earmarked to sell him this summer and want to give him a send off game at old trafford.
so as busts also says, most likely to play both are vidic and jones (if rafael is still out), i'd put evra very close behind that but as i said above, there is always that nagging doubt that if buttner is out in the summer he'll be given a send off.
but don't do anything before friday as vidic could still face action and rafaeel being declared fit would take away from jones' appeal.

edit: there is as much a nagging doubt about buttner been given a send off as there is lindegard so i wouldn't say your opponent has banked united defensive cover for tboth games, to put it in percentage though, i'd be about 95% sure of DDG starting both, about 90% sure of vidic starting both and 85% on Evra. couldn't comment on jones % until rafael is known to be back or not.

Would Rio not start the Hull game with Vidic and Evra as a final send off at Old Trafford? I think if they'll be rested for a game it'll be vs Sunderland as the Hull match is the last if the season at OT.

Interesting, the Daily Mail are saying Terry could be back for the Atletico game during the week after making "rapid" progress. Even if it's BS about the Atletico game, he could return for the weekend. Given Everton have Man City and then Hull Away, might ship out Coleman for a Man City defender instead.

You could very well be right. It could go that way.
I think though both players have hopes of staying now that moyes is gone and will want as much gametime to prove themselves (I've no doubt van gaal will be watching these last few matches very closely).
Evra would have no problem playing 3 games in 8 days but rio wouldn't be able to manage it and I was just thinking that if he was going to play 2 it'd make more sense to play the 2 that are a week apart.
He really wants the 1 year contract extension and giggs has played with him for 12/13 year's so might give him the chance to prove himself.
But yeah he might still manage to play Saturday & Wednesday or even Wednesday & sunday but I personally think the Saturday and following sunday is more likely. He could always come on as a sub for 10 mins v hull in between to get his send off in last home game.
Or maybe I'm just reading way too much into it all :)

Will probably do Gerrard to Mata tonight as Mata's price is due to rise. Don't like doing it early in the week but otherwise I won't be able to afford Distin to Kompany later in the week. Rival has Demichelis so want to differentiate. Going with a city defender as they've a much better fixture than United in GW 38.

Would another hit be worth it to go Lallana to Fernandinho?
