Anyone else having problems with ch4 signal lately? Particularly bad tonight, checked the frequencies and they haven't changed, using a grundig saorsat branded box. Based in the southeast. Should say it's only channel 4 all other channels are perfect

Here in Cork, HD went changed to SD ok, signal may be affected by winds. On my Sky box was watching the Rugby on HD changed over to SD picture stable

If the wind is causing signal drop out then your dish is most likely not properly aligned

Was only aligned recently. Problem on HD channels only.
Does not worry met. Still saw the match. Wrong side won for me.

Looking forward to the Munster match

There is absolutely no problem with the satellite broadcasts themselves. Any problems not connected with extreme rain or wind, will be due to poorly set up or maintained dishes, cables etc.

Thanks for all replies will have to get the dish looked at so, just thought it may have been a signal issue when there was only an issue with one channel.

I seem to remember something about cordless phones near the box causing problems to Channel4. If you have a cordless phone nearby, try turning it off for a few minutes to see if the problem clears.

DECT phones should only cause problems to the 'Irish' Channel 4, encrypted on Sky.

My signal went for a couple of mins last night during the The Trip to Italy - the rain was hammering down at that stage. A friend texted me that hers went at same time.

Heavy rain yesterday did effect signal, here. Boy, was it heavy.

Thanks again for all the replies checked the dish and tightened all connections and it seems to be fine. I'm still none the wiser as to why it just affected ch4.?? Thought they may have changed frequency or something. No cordless phones nearby either.

Nothing changed frequencies & only the encrypted Sky version of Channel 4 can be affected by cordless phones, as the phone shares frequency with the satellite IF.

Your dish is probably misaligned or slightly bent out of shape.
