Kan du rekommendera bokar i Svenska?

My first unscripted Swedish sentence might lack ... sense (25 days into my studies), so can people recommend interesting (Fiction/Non-Fiction) books in that language - starting from children's and perhaps working up to reasonable cheerful works.

I've checked Amazon and the e-book selection is poor, but on Google Books there seems to be more variety and titles.

    Tack för att hjälpa.

A trip out to IKEA might be a rewarding experience. They must buy every second hand book in Sweden...

    http://www.bokus.com/generated/cms/children_lattlast.shtml

    in English, more or less:
It's hard to recommend books for another person, as I have no idea of your tastes or interests.
I do remember tht the first book my Swedish teacher recommended to us long ago, in Gothenburg, was Simon och Ekarna, by Marianne Fredriksson. I loved that book, and reread it again recently and still love it.
And I do not know where to tell you to go to buy Swedish books here in Ireland, me I use www.bokborsen site, for secondhand books, sometimes.
What about reading News in Easy Swedish, online, http://sverigesradio.se/sida/default.aspx?programid=493

The site www.bokus.com has a section for children's books in easy swedish, http://www.bokus.com/generated/cms/children_lattlast.shtml

or look up easy books in swedish online, google böcker på lätt svenska

If you want to read (and can bear to read) children's books in Swedish., I liked the Astrid Lindgren books, eg Emil or Pippi Longstockings, and I also liked the Alfons series, but then again, do you want to be ordering lots of books new from Sweden and paying the postage costs for them, because postage from Sweden is expensive.
Hope you find what you want!

You can "borrow" e-books from several Swedish libraries. That works even if you don't live in Sweden, although it might be a bit of a hassle setting up a library card. Should be free, though.

(Yes, borrow. They are set up to disappear after a few weeks.)

I don't seem to be able to post any links, but google for "elib bibliotek" and select any library in the list.

General advice could be to pick a book with a story you already know :)
The likes of short fairytales... Snow white, three little pigs, Cinderella etc.

Det ligger mycket social kontrollmekanism i "ah here".
