Just ordered a bottle of Celtic Cask Sé Single Malt Cask 1916, I haven't heard of Celtic Casks before, so thought it was worth the gamble.

    Has anyone tried it?

I havent tried that particular branding but Celtic Cask is a side venture of the Celtic Whiskey store in Dawson street, Dublin. I believe their whiskeys are finished at either Cooley or Kilbeggan. I have drank some of the maderia cask line that Celtic Cask were doing and the standard was very very high.

Presented in a nice wooden box, 70CL bottle numbered 212 of 328. Casked Sept 1991 bottled November 2013. I loved the significance of the date as i got employed by my present company in Sept 1991.

Blurb says the following... initially matured in a refill sherry hogshead for 21 years. In 2013 this cask was emptied into a red wine cask from Amina Negra Mallorca, one of Spains finest wineries.

Nose: Fig jam, dried apricots, mace citrus peel and pineapple
    Taste: Fruity and densely textured
    Finish: Warming spicy and fruity.

My opinion, extremely smooth, excellent taste, but probably a bit too expensive for me to ever buy another.
