Any recommendations for a golf, focus or other within this price range?

What mileage would be within the "norm" for a car of this age?

Travelling approx 15k miles a year so petrol or diesel?

Dealer cars only. What warranty should I be looking for? Have seen from 3 months to 12 months and obviously will want the longest warranty possible.

    Thanks for all suggestions.

Do you like the look of any of the following?

    Seat Leon
    Honda civic
    Hyundai i30
    Kia Cee'd
    Peugeot 308
    Renault Megane
    Skoda Octavia
    Audi A3
    Honda Insight
    Opel Astra
    BMW 1 Series
    Toyota Prius
    Mini Clubman
    Mazda3
    Nissan Juke
    Nissan Qashqai
    Skoda Yeti

Your needs are pretty general, so we may as well try and find something you like the look of.

    Also. What's your budget?

What sort of driving will you be doing? Short trips or longer motorway type driving?

I like the look of the bolded cars as well as the focus and golf. Budget between €12 - 15k

Mainly short trips but work brings me around the country once a month with the majority of those trips on motorways

Is there anything in particular you dislike about the Focus?

I am selling a 2010 Focus if that would interest you, totally genuine car and well under your budget.

No not at all. My 2003 has served me well!

This one looks to have all that I need and is priced better than all that I have compared against ....

Ideally looking for a 2011 or newer, from a dealer with a warranty but thanks anyway

Hmmm, I'd have my reservations about a diesel car that's done 4000 miles a year.

Fair point. That garage also has a 2011 golf that has 86,000 km on the clock. How do you rate that?

Perhaps a petrol car would suit your needs better as you mostly do short journeys wouldn't have to pay a price premium for a diesel like the spec of the focus you linked ... not sure about colour !!
