I'm currently with Eircom Efibre and am getting speed of about 30mb on average which is fine for streaming etc - Have had some billing issues with Eircom since I switched to efibre so may cancel the contract.

Am living in Carlow town and can access UPC....Is it as fast or faster than eircom and more importantly is it reliable because at least Eircom has rarely if ever broken down...Any one with feedback on UPC would be helpful??

I live in Carlow too but I chose Fibre over UPC mainly because of the upload speed and it's due to be installed today! Anyway, get UPC if you can.

Has been very reliable apart from a period in the last 2 months where they've changed settings and there are issues with drops outs particularly Wifi.

Seems to be a matter of it being rushed out and cleaning up the mess after.

It was solid as a rock before. If you pay for 120 down 10 up you'll likely get a slight bit above those figures too (wired connection that is) as a bonus.

    Sure see how you go!

You might get excellent fibre service or not.

Mind you UPC has quite a few horror stories too.

    Luck of the draw really.

When I had Chorus NTL years ago the service was very good but the customer service was sometimes iffy.

Getting 95/18 on the 100/20 Fibre package so I'm delighted.

Stay on a rolling contract if I were you.

If UPC becomes rock solid again (which it has been for me up until recently, which is a widespread thing not just in CW) then you have that option.
