    Hi,

I have played a round of golf maybe 4 times in my life - approx 6/7 years ago. it was with friends and I wasn't very good - then again I did get loads of conflicting advice
I started as I won a putter at a show (tech not golf) and was talked into buying a bag and set of clubs by a colleague. I was then given some drivers by a friend as a present. However I have no idea if they are any good etc.

Anyways I am now thinking of learning properly and am looking for suggestions on where to go and who to ask etc.

    Any advice appreciated.

When I was starting out I joined the golf academy in Fota. I bought a years membership and 6 lessons. It is a great facility and will help get you the basics and build up your confidence before tackling a full course. Lessons are definitely the way to go.
