At the moment it's Castlevania SOTN as I'm still on a bit of a high after playing through it properly for the first time.

Back in the day it would have been Metal Gear Solid. Must have played through it about 10 times over the space of a couple of years.

Either Resident Evil 3 or Metal Gear Solid. I'd probably give it to Resi 3 as it was the first game that ever got me hooked and the first game that ever scared me.

I met the guy who led the team who developed Speed Freaks, an Irish based team.
They got tons of support from Sony before they went to an expo where they were treated to the primo spot going to the previously unannounced Crash Team Racing and Speed Freaks got slung onto a small display and it got a minor release with little fanfare.
He seemed pretty p1ssed off, even now all these years later.

Having grown up with the PS1 my personal favourites from my childhood are gran turismo 1 & 2, ridge racer, Rayman, GTA London, Porsche challenge, crash bandicoot 3 and the spyro games.

MGS of course, but I also liked overboard, probably because it was one of the first games I got and didnt have much else to play. Nostalgia factor :D

Rollcage and it's sequel, the predictably named Rollcage 2.
They were pure belters, Wipeout on Wheels but with added awesomeness.

Just skip to around 3:00 to get to the game itself, around 10:00 gets you to an even better track.

Forgot about destruction derby. Fantastic game. Didn't care much about the sequel though.

Forgot about destruction derby. Fantastic game. Didn't care much about the sequel though.

I'm the opposite, the original had a certain simplicity and charm but ultimately there was way too much screen tearing and polygon folding and other texture fubbed upedness that makes it hard to play now, at least for me. Destruction Derby 2 felt like a new game from a new team but was fast and visuals solid, though the charm was lost somewhere along the way.

That's pretty much all PAL games. Unless its a European only exclusive you really should never buy a PAL ps1 game.

Well that's me, I'll be trying to replace them all... When I get money. I think enter now sold all hisand rebought them as NTSC with money left over.

The one thing about doing that (for me anyway) is I really don't like the presentation of NTSC US ps1 games. They're dog ugly in comparison.
