Adjustable Dumbbells

    Where's the best/cheapest place to get a set of adjustable dumbbells, something like the bowflex 552.

    Not much stirring second hand on adverts and the like.

    I have a set of spindle locks but they're just too slow to be adjusting.

    Anyway in my case I need some form of adjustable dumbbell as I'm not getting out of the house anytime soon with a new baby keeping me busy.

    Any good sites etc recommended to buy from?

    hands down the best i have ever used are the powerblocks (google)

    do NOT buy the boflex - have had a few clients buy them in the past and broken and quite bulky.

    Have had my powerblocks for must be 12yrs now and bulletproof

    Oh oh. Couldn't stretch to the powerblocks so went with the bowflex.

    I actually got reasonable value on the powerblocks from Mcsport.ie . They matched the prices on Amazon.co.uk , were cheaper than powerhouse-fitness.co.uk and offered free delivery.

    I ordered the Powerblock Sport 9.0 Stage I for 360, which has the same expandability as the U90's without the urethane coating which some reviewers say make them blockier. I'll probably order the Stage 2 kit right away. It's pricey as hell but any reviews I've seen place powerblocks ahead of everything bar Ironmasters. Ironmasters can only be sourced from one supplier in the UK and the price is pretty steep.

    I'd read negative things about the Bowflex options and I didn't want to limit myself to 32kg with the bodymax selectabells.
