Summer experience

Hey, I am about to finish a degree in Accounting and am shamed to say I couldn't find any experience for the summer. I will most likely do an M.Sc. but for the time being I need experience, and any.

Could anyone give me pointers as to where and how to apply? I tried the usual- campus, uni recruiting pages, gradireland, jobs.ie etc. I wonder is it a good idea to apply to offices directly? A mail or email randomly sent in hope they have a vacancy. If so what office work could I apply for other than accounting. I need ideas, I've applied to a lot of places and so far no luck! It's going horrible and by now I'm lost. If you know any firms that could be hiring you can give me their names too (no don't just say big 4 or any of the largest firms really I know for a fact that their process is over) I wouldn't care if it's any office work.

Also I did a fair bit of law throughout the degree, 3 or 4 modules and got high grades, would law firms be an option for the summer or would they look down on me because of the unrelated degree and the fact I want to pursue accounting?

    Thanks in advance ;)
