query on jobseekers benefit

So i qualified for jobseekers benefit and on the letter from the welfare office it states that this payment will be paid from 14th april and that the jb will continue as long as i meet the conditions but not for more than 234 days of unemployment. Fair enough but my qt is this... is this 234 days from the 14th of april…

Fair enough but my qt is this... is this 234 days from the 14th of april until 9 months time or am i totally wrong?

I was on jb from 20th dec 2013 to 2nd april 2014 - so i thought id only have 6 mths of jb left from 14 april.

Yes it links back to your old claim so will be 9 months in total so you have roughly 6 months left
