I currently have my eye on both of these. They are both 05 same mileage and diesel. The C5 is the 1.6 and the octavia is 1.9 with it also being taxed till aug but 600 more then the C5.

Just wondering people opinions as think I heard people saying the 1.6 was a bit dodge????

From a resale point of view it would have to be the Octavia. Mechanically the 1.9 in the Skoda is far more reliable engine than the 1.6HDI.

Octavia while has a big boot is smaller as it is from a the class below the likes of the C5. The C5 would definitely be more comfortable and refined but the 1.9 TDi in the Octavia would be more reliable.

The octavia everytime the 1.9tdi engine is a lot more reliable than the 1.6hdi engine.

I'd rather the looks of that vintage Octavia over the C5 anyway. Quite the robust engine in the Octy as well

    Get a 2.0 C5. Problem solved.
