Kindle battery life

Hi there My wife bought a used kindle fire HD during the week and it appears to loose battery life when the unit is powered off, the battery app I downloaded says the battery health is good but 8% off battery life is lost every 24hours???? Is there something she is not doing?? Thanks in advance
