Let's say your upper lip felt a little strange or numb for a while and you looked up the internet and found "numb chin syndrome" suggests terminal illness .

Do you think you could start believing your chin and lips were numb? It's not complete numbness, just not the same full sensation. I really can't figure out whether or not it's placebo or not. By this stage it's like I've forgotten what it's supposed to feel like. It could be that I had it before and it's gone now... for this illness that would be bad also. I already went to my doctor who was unimpressed so I had to try and convince him, but I'm getting scared of the hazards of testing I would have to do.

Could you ever think your chin felt partially numb if it was not? 2 votes

    Yes, could believe it completely.

    It's possible.

    Highly doubt that could happen.

No, I could never consider that unless I had it.

Stick a needle in it and tell us how numb it is.

The mind is very powerful you could believe it after reading it, if your not happy with your doctors opinion it would be no harm to seek another professionals optinion

    Was your doctor a psychiatrist?
If not I suggest you attempt this avenue.

Get a second opinion if you're still worried, doctors sometimes miss things

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

There's no such thing as weird health question, only a weird health answer.

Seeking, and giving, medical advice is not permitted on Boards. If you're worried that there's something wrong with you go to your GP. He'll know a lot more than a bunch of randomers on the internet.
