No personal experience but I have heard that the judge may ask a few questions and make a decision to uphold or dismiss the appeal. From what I have heard from professionals who work the circuit, some judges may not even hear a case and just concur with the dc order. The judges are inundated with cases and a dc appeal is not high on their list of priorities and want to get the matter heard ASAP.

What type of matter is being appealed and what are your reasons for doing so? Do you have legal representation?

Why was the access removed in the first place? You need to apply for Legal Aid. There's a means test and there will be a fee based on your circumstances but your not going to get anywhere representing yourself.
Some of the judges will just tell you to go away and come back when you have representation.

Also, be honest. She did not get your access removed without making a serious allegation and whatever she told the judge was believable so if you want to see your kids you'd better get a solicitor.

it was removed with a solicitor on the case, not much hope of getting it reinstated with one so i'm going to go without, even with legal aid I cannot afford it,at the end of the day its the child who will suffer,i have 5 children in total,2 with the ex 3 with my wife, even though I made the judge aware of my other children the last day and that they are happy, healthy kids etc still I ended up getting nowhere,so I have to get references from my kids school etc to show to the judge that I am of good character as they have dealt with me primarily.the case is up in june in ennis C.C so it will be an interesting time to see how I get treated this time around
