Skoda Octavia 1.4 power steering gone

    Hi all,

    I started my 1.4 2007 Octavia on Saturday evening and the yellow power steering light was on the dashboard.

    The power steering is gone on the car so I parked her up and got out the manual.

    The manual said to contact the specialized dealer which on a Bank Holiday weekend is not ideal.

    I went to check it this evening ahead of ringing the garage in the morning and now the car won't start at all, can anyone hazard a guess as to what may be the problem?

    There doesn't seem to be any fluid on the ground.

    Check the belt on the power steering pump hasnt snapped or slipped
