can't find my bog

    Hi all.

I have a bit of a strange one here.
I have 2 pieces of bog that I haven't been near in years.
I recently went looking for it but can't identify the boundaries at all.
Obviously I don't want to cut into or trespass on the bogs beside mine.
I have found the folio numbers only for both bogs this weekend.
My question is, is there anyone that I can get to mark out the bog exactly from the folio numbers?
I would be grateful for any constructive input on this matter.
Please do not spam the thread with negative nonsensical replies.
    Thanks.

Does any older people still cut turf on it, or up to recently? They'll usually know who owns what.

A surveyor should be able to do that for you.

Are the gps co-ordinates on the folio maps? Do you have a phone with gps on it? That would give you a rough idea.

The PRAI website has an interactive map of foilos which may have the gps, but the mapping isn't working for me today.

Hi there. I only have the folio numbers and not the actual maps. Do you know where I'd get the maps from the folio number?
Would old maps now have GPS co ordinates now?
    Thanks

Mo point having to pay some indeterminate middle man etc you can apply yourself to get a copy of your maps once you have the folio number. There is a fee of €40 but with that you get the maps for future reference.

    Best of luck with it

Hi. I have a record number actually. Not 100% sure that's the folio number. Am going to contact a surveyor.

We have a old map showing the site and the turbridy number.
Turbridy numbers are as important as any folio number so do not be put off.
Contact the Land Commission, from memory they are based in Waterford/Wexford.
Your Turbridy number is all you need to locate your plot. The Land Commission will have a record of same be it "hard copy" or digital.
It is up to them to find it, not you.

Could adverse possession come into play here given that the OP hasn't "been near it in years" ?
Is it more than 12 years OP I wonder?

Hi thanks for input. I am going to try go to four courts Monday to obtain a hard copy. Don't believe it has been cut for the last 12 years.

Hi. Just to close this off, I got all sorted in the end. Numerous trips to solicitor and a meeting with solicitor and a barrister confirmed that squatter's rights does not apply in this case. Barrister wrote directly to 'squatter' and I have since cut the bog and will do again this year.
    Thanks all.
